Indian Summer / Falling Into Winter

It's been a crazy month. I've been working pretty steady. Then I come home, have snack, take ds to therapy (speech or OT), do HW with DD, run errands, dinner, chores... what time is left after that. We bought a bunk bed for my kids. We had to rearrange the room for it. Last minute errands for our family vaction to Disney and then packing.

I did manage to get this mini together for you. It is not what I originally had in mind when I came up with this color pallett for the ladies at Scrapkit Challenge to use. Maybe when we get back from vacation on Dec. 4th I'll add to this kit if I have time.
The blog train, unfortunately, will have to wait until I get back from vacation. If you are really desperate, you can look down at the last post for those participants. They'll have the new train stops out on time (hopefully).

My family is going to Walt Disney World FL in three weeks and this will come in handy. LOL

Home Sweet Home

Have you seen this beautiful kit by Manda's Scrappin' Creations? It's called Home Sweet Home and it's full of rich fall colors... browns, reds, and greens. It's in her store at Stuff to Scrap for just $2.99.
Here is the link to the store.

Morning Solitude Blog Train

Good morning. I'm not working today so I figured I post this before DH gets home. The great ladies at Stuff to Scrap (STS) has put together a wonderful blog train. The colors are so calming. I love them and couldn't resist participating this month. I guess many others felt the same way. You can see by the number of participants. Clear some space on your hard drive and start downloading all those soothing goodies.
The Scrapkit Challenge Blog train will take off on November 1st or 2nd. Stay tuned for the rest of the Sweet Tooth participants.

Sweet Tooth Alpha... anyone going to Disney next month

Is anyone going to Disney next month? We're leaving on Thanksgiving and staying until Dec. 4. We're staying at Pop Century. My family loves meeting peope that share our interests from other parts of the country.

Here is my last part of this kit. The "Dot Candy" alpha.

Grcicfamily this note is for you. :) Scrapkit Challenge gives a color pallet and a theme each month for us to work on. Everyone does their own interpretation of the kit. As each person does their own thing weekly (or when they can) they then put it on their blogs (if they want or they can wait until the post date). The links to the blogs are collected and posted on each particiapants blog. This month our links are due Oct. 31 and we get the collected links on Nov. 1 and post them as soon as we can. If you want to collect the "kit" sooner, you could join Scrapkit Challenge for free.

Sweet Tooth Elements

Here is a layout I did for a Speed Scrap at Stuff to Scrap. The kit is called Bright Star by Manda at Scrappin' Creations. For some reason mine was quit different from the others that did the challenge. I do love the way it turned out though. Where can you get a layout done in just over an hour and have fun doing it. We get one instruction every ten minutes. Seven instructions in an hour. Save it and post it and we're done.

Here are the Elements for Sweet Tooth. I got a little carried away. Please leave a comment if you download. It helps my self-esteem!!! The alpha will follow in a day or two. If you remember, they have the dot candy involved somehow.
The blog train for this will be out at the beginning of next month as usual.

Sweet Tooth Papers and elements to follow this week

Currently on the homefront, I've worked every day for the past two weeks. I hope that is indicative of how the year is going to be. Hubby is in therapy for his back now. They say it's because he is favoring one side since the surgery as the leg still bothers him. Kids are doing great. DD loves school. DS is trying to get out of diapers, but no luck there yet.

This months theme at Scrapkit Challenge is "Sweet Tooth." My first look at the color pallet reminded me of Dot Candy. That is what was my inspiration for this kit. My papers are up first. The elements are done already. They should be up tomorrow or Wednesday. Included in the elements are bunch of candy items (look alikes of course). The list includes taffy, sweet tarts, starlights, runts, a lollipop, gum drops, fruit snacks, fruit gummies and of course the inspiration, dot candy. Even the alphabet has the dot candy involved somehow! You'll just have to stay tuned to find out.

Summer Harvest Blog Train and a Freebie

The Summer Harvest Blog Train has left the station. The stops are listed below.

Here is a little something that I did for a challenge at Stuff to Scrap. It is my first word art. The topic was birthday word art. With my daughters' birthday right around the corner and the cute saying the kids are using these days; I made one for it.

Actually it is two, one pink and one blue.

Summer Harvest Alpha

This, by far, is my most favorite alpha I've made. The original color swatch also included blue, but for some reason, it didn't seem right for what I was doing. The blog train should be out in a couple of days and you'll see what I mean.

This alpha has three parts and a bonus; an upper case alpha and two coordinating lower case alphas. The bonus is a few glitter frames. I read a tutorial on how to make glitter and gave it a try. I don't like the way they came out but maybe someone out there might, so I included it anyway.

Up next, in a couple of days, is a small word art I made for a challenge at Stuff to Scrap. It's a Birthday word art. Come back in a few days to take a look.

Summer Harvest Kit

I've been very busy lately, but I've still managed to get a mini-kit together for you. The color pallet that we were using this month at ScrapKit Challenge also had a blue in it. When I was making the preview, I noticed I only had one blue element, the blue ribbon. I left it off the preview but put it in the DL. Hopefully, time permitting, their will be another part to this kit with more blue in it.

A bunch of stuff

I've been busy lately. I'm doing a lot of speed scraps at Stuff to Scrap. The challenges are super fun too. It motivates me to do layouts instead of searching the web. LOL Have at look at my gallery.

Click link to go to GALLERY. at Stuff to Scrap.

Here's my favorite LO.

There are a lot of new designers at Stuff to Scrap. Scrapteam2008 is one of them. They have a cute kit called King's Cherish. It has pinks and blues for both sexes. It can also be used for birthday layouts. Go have a look.

As you may know, I joined Stuff to Scrap. I check the forum daily and enjoy doing the challenges. They also have some wonderful kits in the store. I can't wait to accumulate points to win some. I also have a gallery there where I post the layouts I've done for their challenges.
They have this Dream Kit Challenge where you have a chance to have designers design your dream kit.

On a sad note, school and work start next week. I hope to find the time to do all the scrapping stuff I've been doing the last couple of weeks.

Branching Out

I recently branched out. I joined Stuff to Scrap. I did a Speed Scrap with them the other night and I really like the way the layout came out.

I used Bitz of Country kit by Babz Bitzy Beez Designz.

Looking around at Stuff to Scrap I found this gorgeous kit that can be used for all those stars in your life, boys and girls alike. I may use it to make a brag book for my daughters' teacher this year.
The kit is called Bright Star and is designed by Manda's Scrappin' Creations. It's on sale for $2.00.

Camping Kit Papers

So sorry for the long time since my last post. I lost my hard drive. I lost 5 months of family photos. I lost all of the greatest scrapkits I've found on the internet. If you notice any of your kits in use in my slide show please let me know. I would love to have those kits again!

Anyway, Scrapkit Challenge has decided to have us work on the Camping kit for two months instead of the usual one month. Two people had computer problems, including me. Some went on vacation, some... well, you get the idea. Life always seems to get in the way.

Beach Babies Part 4 and look below for Blog Train

Here's part 4 for Beach Babies. Sorry I didn't get it up when promised. DH became addicted to Chainz2 which he got for Father's Day. He hasn't stopped playing it yet! LOL Maybe next time I won"t get him something for the computer. LMAO

Be sure to check my last post for the Blog Train for this kit done at Scrapkit Challenge.

For this part I experimented with actions from Atomic Cupcake and Scrappin' Cop. I was planning on using the sequins to make an alpha. Maybe that's what I'll do if we don't get the next challenge from SKC. Thanks ladies for the use of your actions. They are great!

On a sad note, I'm disappointed in the number of DLs for my Boys Times kit. The kits from SKC get twice as many DLs if not more. If you missed any please scroll down and take a look.

We have no idea what is coming next month. We don't find out until the first. I'm going to try to branch out on my own again. All I know is I want to do something with flowers... any ideas out there?

School's out and summer has started in my neck of the woods. Now to find things to keep the kids busy!!!

Trying to come up with a new color scheme for another kit. Details on this to follow.
Only one more day of work. I can't believe they called me in to sub this week. On the other hand, that money will come in handy for the summer!

Boys Times has another Alpha

Before I get to the goodies, for which you all come, let me tell you about my DD. As you know she dislocated her elbow a while back. This made her miss gym most of the semester. She got a virus last week and just went back to school yesterday. She was even too sick to go on her class trip. I couldn't go to her International Day because of a prior commitment. And to top it off, today is field day and she can't participate because of her elbow. Things have to start looking brighter for her soon. You can tell she was dissappointed each time she had to miss something but her teacher said she was a trooper. I felt so bad for her.

As promised here is the other alpha to go along with my Boys Times kit. Capitals in blue, lower case and punctuation in green, numbers in both colors.

Coming the next time I post is the first installment of the elements for the Beach Babies kit.

I still have the two other alphas from Boys Times that I promised you.

Two more weeks and counting. Anyone have ideas for FREE activities for a 3 and 7 year old for the summer.

It's finally done but there's more to come...

I finally finished the BoysTimes kit. There is another alpha to come. I just have to cut it up for you. I have a third alpha that I made but didn't like. That I'll put up uncut. If I get enough requests to cut it up for you, I will. I still think something is missing from the kit, but I couldn't put my finger on it. If you know what is missing or would like something in addition to what's already done, just let me know.

Off to finish that alpha I mentioned earlier and the elements to go with Summer Babies. Oh yeah! Expect those papers some time very soon.

School is almost over. Yeah and ney... I don't have to work, more time to work on stuff for you, my kids will get on my nerves, no money coming in... what is a woman to do? LOL

Love My Pets Alpha

Today, you'll get the alpha to go with this kit. The blog train will be posted shortly after June 2nd.

I went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway in New York City last night. It was spectacular. Some scenes are the same from the movie and some were different. The children actors were fantastic. I've never been to a Broadway show before and loved it immensely. It was an expensive evening but well worth it even though we got the tickets at group rates. Train ride, lunch, dinner, cab, show, sitter and our visit to the Disney store brought our trip expenses to over $450. WOW!

On a scrapping note, I've finally figured out how to load Atomic Cupcake actions into my program. Look for some of those actions in my kits. I'm playing with them in the Boys Times kit. Who knows what I'll come up with. lol.

Love My Pets Part 2

Here is part 2 for Love My Pets. This kit isn't that big. No time on computer lately.
My DH went for a consultation to have Lap Band surgery today. He wants to have it done after we get back from Florida in December. Doc can have him in by the end of August. He has to go for a battery of tests for clearance for the surgery. DS has his Upper GI scheduled for Friday. Lately it seems like its docs everywhere.

Anyway...

Love My Pets and my ramblings...

Love my pets is the new kit Scrapkit Challenge has been working on this month. As we've been doing the last couple of months, there will be another blog train.
I haven't had much time to myself at all the last couple of weeks. Computer time was maybe 30 minutes a day if I was lucky. I've worked everyday. The days I didn't work, I had DD doctor, DS doctor. The past two weekends we helped a friend move. They live an hour away. There went my weekends and my computer time.

This kit isn't at all what I wanted to do with it. I wanted to have the pet and the paw print each on its own paper. I wanted to have brads and mats with both on them too. The ideas were there but the time wasn't. Maybe in the future... who knows.

Now since Pamela isn't designing and I am, I'm finding there aren't as many freebies that I find interesting anymore. The kits I do see that I like, sell them and give a QP as a freebie. I don't do QP's.

I've only added one thing to the boy kit since I wrote last. I told you that I work better with deadlines. The response hasn't been that good with those DLs. Maybe once the elements go on, friends will grab the whole kit then.

Anyway, here's what you've come for...

Boys Times Wooden Tile Alpha

It has been a rough week. It is amazing how much a 7 year old actually does for herself. I realized that this week helping my DD so much with the cast on.

I am heart broken that Pamela called it quits. I looked so foward to getting to the computer to see what she came up with every day. I don't know how she did it. I don't think I'll ever post daily... than again, only time will tell. I hope it isn't burn out. :(
Anyway, I'm still working on her add-ons.

Here is the Boys Times Alpha...

Home Improvement Blog Train had arrived

Sorry its been so long since I posted anything. Life has been extremely busy. My son has to go for an Upper GI series (he's only 3). He vomits a lot. Doc wants to check for reflux, narrowing of the esphogus (sp), etc. My daughter is now in a cast from her shoulder down to her hand. She dislocated her elbow playing on the playground at school last Friday. It happened right under my eyes. She fell on top of Philip but he is fine. Four hours in the hospital and a pediatric surgeon later to tell us no surgery was needed. What a horrible weekend thinking the my Molly (7) would need surgery. Now she can bearly do anything. She is righty and this is her right arm. How horrible for the both of us.

Enough about my life... The Blog Train has arrivedat my station.

It's been a busy week with the kids off, next week don't seem any better. I'm working Tues and Wed that I know of, have to spend Thurs with my dad. Early dismissal on Thurs also for report cards. Looks like another busy week.

I finished up the Boys Times papers. There are 22 papers in all. I still feel like I'm missing something like a bold pattern paper, but we'll see what happens. I split the papers into two for easier downloading. I hope you like them. I have one alpha done that I've made from scratch. That will be coming soon. The preview is show below.

The elements are coming along slowly. I'm using some CU items for these. I have to get the credits together to put in my TOU.

Just a short post tonight. Have a Happy Passover and a Happy Easter. My family celebrates both. My DH is Jewish and I'm Catholic.

Here is part 2 for Home Improvement. Week 3 is almost done as well. Still working on Boys Times. I may just give the papers I have so far. Some of my papers usually have some of the kits elements in them, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I guess I'll just add them in when I'm done.

Add on for Pamela's Year in Review Kit - Giggle

Went to my son's gastro doc today because he throws up more than normal. The doc said the funniest thing... he has the "happy" spit ups. He said it should go away with time, gave him more reflux meds and told us to come back in a month.
I went back to doc too. The antibotics, although they were strong, didn't kick the bug out of me. My blood work came back normal. Now I'm on Predisone for 10 days.
As promised, I've made another add on for Pamela's Giggle kit. I'll try to do the same for the Shout and Smirk kits as well... time permitting. If you want a different color, please let me know. I choose three colors (one girlish, one boyish and one neutral).

Going to start looking for ideas for my "Boys Times" kit.

What's coming...

Besides the blog train that will be coming the first week in April, something different is coming. I'm going out on the limb here. I made my own color pallet for a new boy kit. If you would like something special in this kit let me know. If you'd like a different color added, let me know that too. Here are the colors I came up with. Do you like them? I want to do something else for Pamela's kits at Digitreats before I start this kit.

Family Tree / Heritage Part 4

I knew I couldn't go without making an addition to this kit. I enjoyed working with these colors and it shows in my creations. The blog train for this should be up sometime the first week of April as our links are due by the 2nd so they can be put in one code for you.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions for new kits. Some requests were boys kits, summer activities (including fishing, camping, swimming). I even got one for family lose (sorry Mary in NC) I wouldn't know were to begin with that one as there are many beliefs and my mom's passing is so fresh is my heart.

I've done a boy kit in the past and it was well liked by my viewers. I may do another of that or summer activities. Going to look for a color pallet.

Now I'm going to work on another add-on for Pamela's kits.... stay tuned.

Family Tree / Heritage Part 3

It's been a while since I had this packaged. I've finally had a minute or two before I take my son to doc for his MRI, to post. This part has three alphas... gold and silver lower case only, patterned one upper and lower case.

I knew the count meter hasn't been working correctly at 4shared so please leave me a message. Let me know what type of kit you would like me to work on next. I need suggestions, I work better that way... hehe.

Family Tree / Heritage Part 2

Here is part 2 for my Family Tree kit. Part 3 is done too. I just have to package it up. Look for it this weekend.

All is not going to well. My son has been throwing up often and has had tremors for a while when eating or building blocks. We went to the neurologist and she said he looked fine but wants to send him for an MRI of the brain. That appointment is on the 19th. Speaking of nerves... lol.

Myself, on the other hand, I've had sinsus pressure and headaches for a couple of days and shortness of breath. When to doc. She gave me two prescriptions and wants me to go for an electrocardiogram soon. This has got me worrried as my mother had heart problems since she was in her 40's too. Speaking of nerves... I'm starting to tremor now... lol.

Anyway, here is part 2.

Wow! Pamela said YES!!!!

Pamela from Digitreats said she would love to post my add-on to her Shout kit on her blog. She said she'll post the link on Saturday. I'm overjoyed. I've never done add-ons before and I'm honored that Pamela said yes. For those of you that don't know about her kits... She has three color schemes and posts one "something" from one of the three kits almost every day. The theme is A Year in Review. I don't know how she does it with three kids but her work is amazing.

This add-on is just some simple word art for the months of the year done in her shout colors. I'm planning on doing the same thing for the other color schemes. Possibly doing numbers and a couple of years in the same style. Who knows what may come next.

As an added bonus I have an add-on to the Smirk kit also. I'll work on the Giggle add on next.
